Falak Shabir calls for dress code law in Punjab

Singer urges CM Maryam Nawaz to regulate clothing in public places, linking it to cultural values.

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-June-06,2026) Pakistani singer Falak Shabir has requested Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to introduce regulations regarding dress code in public places.

Falak Shabir shared a story on his social media account in which he praised the Punjab government for banning vaping in the province.

In his post, he wrote that it is a very good step, but as a father of two daughters, he humbly requests Maryam Nawaz to also consider making laws for public places, markets, and streets regarding people wearing “short clothes.” Otherwise, he said, “we will be destroyed culturally.”
