The false news quickly spread online, prompting concern among fans.
Hollywood actor Seth Rogen has once again become the target of fake death rumours circulating on social media, with misleading posts briefly claiming that the 44-year-old actor had passed away.
On Wednesday, Rogen trended on X (formerly Twitter) after an unverified report emerged from a clickbait website falsely stating that the Superbad star had died.
The article, published by a site identified as PageShartt, carried a fabricated headline and had no credible source to support the claim.
The false news quickly spread online, prompting concern among fans. Many users dismissed the rumours, calling them irresponsible and misleading, with several expressing relief after confirming that the actor is alive and well.
Some of the confusion also appears to be linked to Rogen’s recent cameo in the popular series The Boys, where he appeared as himself in a guest role and was depicted as being killed in a fictional crossfire scene. This on-screen moment may have contributed to the misleading social media trend associating his name with “death.”
This is not the first time Rogen has been targeted by such hoaxes. In September 2025, a similar fake “R.I.P. Seth Rogen” post spread widely on Facebook, gaining nearly one million interactions before being debunked. His representatives at the time confirmed that the actor was “alive and well” and urged the public not to believe unverified online claims.
The latest incident highlights how quickly misinformation can spread on social media, especially when linked to trending entertainment content. Users are advised to verify such claims through credible news sources before sharing.
