Family of murdered Muntaha assured of transparent legal process

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jul, 2026) The family of murdered Muntaha met officials of the Punjab Prosecution Department in Sargodha after Punjab Minister for Prosecution Rana Bilal Ahmed directed authorities to address their concerns regarding the progress of the case.

Acting on the minister's instructions, the victim's relatives were invited to the office of the District Public Prosecutor in Sargodha, where District Public Prosecutor Malik Amir Shahzad held a detailed meeting with them. The family was accompanied by Sheikh Safdar, SHO City Police Station Sargodha Muhammad Iqbal Gondal, SHO Atta Shaheed Police Station, and media representative Anees Akram.

During the meeting, prosecution officials listened to the family's concerns and reviewed reports related to the case. They also briefed the relatives on the current status of the prosecution, upcoming legal proceedings and the prosecution's role in pursuing the case. Officials responded to the family's questions and assured them that the prosecution was being conducted transparently, impartially and in accordance with the law.

The prosecution office reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing all available legal measures to ensure the timely delivery of justice and to safeguard the rights of the victim's family.

District Public Prosecutor Malik Amir Shahzad said that maintaining regular communication with victims' families, keeping them informed of legal developments and addressing their concerns were key elements of the Punjab Prosecution Department's policy of transparency, accountability and public service.

He added that in sensitive cases such as the Muntaha murder case, building the confidence of victims' families through continuous engagement reflects the department's commitment to a fair and effective justice system.

The Sargodha Prosecution Department reiterated that upholding the rule of law, ensuring timely justice and protecting victims' rights remain its top priorities, adding that all legal resources would continue to be utilised to bring the case to its logical conclusion with professionalism, integrity and impartiality.
