Fast Bowler Naseem Shah imposed Rs 20m fine for central contract breach

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday imposed a fine of 20 million rupees on fast bowler Naseem Shah for breach of various clauses of central contract and the PCB Social Media guidelines

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Mar, 2026) The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday imposed a fine of 20 million rupees on fast bowler Naseem Shah for breach of various clauses of central contract and the PCB Social Media guidelines.

Naseem Shah was issued a Show Cause Notice by the PCB for a social media post which violated PCB's central contract and other guidelines on March 27 (Friday). A three-member disciplinary committee was constituted by the PCB to look into the violation.

Naseem Shah appeared for personal hearing before the PCB's Disciplinary Committee while his reply had already been received and reviewed by the committee.

Pursuant to the hearing and evaluation of Naseem's submissions the Committee determined as under:

"Whilst noting the unconditional apology tendered, Naseem is found to have breached various clauses of his Central Contract and a fine of PKR 2 crores has been imposed.

It was noted that Naseem Shah's social media adviser has already been terminated by Naseem and shall be blacklisted by the PCB from associating with any player falling under the PCB's jurisdiction.

The PCB remains committed to upholding professional standards, contractual obligations and the integrity of the game."
