FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Director General (DG) Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Muhammad Asif Chaudhary said that FDA has achieved 80 percent plantation target under “Plantation for Generation” campaign while the goal of planting 20,000 saplings would be fully accomplished within next few days.

He expressed these views while reviewing progress of the plantation campaign in a meeting attended by Additional Director General Qaiser Abbas Rind, Chief Engineer Mehr Ayub, Directors Asma Mohsin, Junaid Hassan Manj, Sohail Maqsood Pannu, Yasir Ejaz Chattha, Afnan Saeed Sandhu, and other officers.

Highlighting the unique importance of plantation campaign, DG FDA said that the special drive aims to plant at least 100,000 saplings of a minimum height of five feet across the city within boundary walls and secure locations.

In this regard, on the directions of the Divisional Commissioner Faisalabad, the Plantation Portal is active and each planted sapling is being geo-tagged to enable digital monitoring of plantation and growth efforts, he added.

He further informed that the FDA has undertaken the responsibility of planting 20,000 saplings and it is implementing this task effectively in addition to involving private housing societies to ensure protected plantation.

He said that by planting large-sized saplings and demonstrating responsibility in their growth, a green environment can be passed on to future generations as a legacy.

He directed the officers to continuously monitor the planted saplings within their respective jurisdictions and ensure their watering and survival.

He also instructed the Project Director FDA City to leave no stone unturned in the protection, maintenance and growth of saplings planted in green belts, parks and other areas.

He also directed the Town Planning section officers to immediately achieve plantation targets in private housing societies and ensure regular inspection of the planted saplings so that the “Plantation for Generation” campaign can be made successful at all costs.
