FDA launches crackdown against illegal commercialization, illicit colonies

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has launched a vigorous crackdown

against illegal commercialization and illicit constructions in residential colonies

and commercial markets.

FDA spokesman said here on Monday that four enforcement teams were actively

engaged and they had sealed more than 60 shops and other properties in various

areas for converting residential properties into commercial use without approval,

non-payment of commercialization dues and carrying out illegal constructions.

Giving details, he said that under the supervision of Director Town Planning Afnan

Saeed Sindhu and under patronage of Deputy Directors Town Planning Iqra Murtaza

and Raheel Zafar, the FDA enforcement teams comprising Inspectors Sanaullah,

Zafar Baloch, Moazzam Asghar, Aamir Ali and other staff conducted inspections

in Madina Town, Allama Iqbal Colony, Sir Syed Town, Quaid-e-Azam Market, and

other areas.

During inspections, they sealed over 60 shops and other plots for illegally converting

residential properties into commercial activities, failure to pay commercialization dues

despite repeated notices and for encroachments and unauthorized constructions.

The property owners had been warned to immediately obtain commercialization

approval and deposit the required dues, otherwise, fines and further strict legal

action would be taken, he added.

He said that FDA enforcement teams would also remain active in the field and

zero-tolerance policy had been adopted against illegal commercialization. Therefore,

property owners should refrain from violating the law, he added.
