Federal Ombudsman’s Inspection Leads to Upgradation of Rohri Railway Station

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) An inspection conducted at Rohri Junction Railway Station by the Federal Ombudsman (Wafaqi Mohtasib) has resulted in significant administrative action aimed at improving passenger facilities.

According to a release issued here on Wednesday, during the inspection of Pakistan Railways’ Rohri Junction Station, various deficiencies in commuter facilities were identified. Taking cognizance of the situation, the Federal Ombudsman recommended to the higher authorities of Pakistan Railways that immediate measures be taken to provide adequate and improved facilities to the travelling public.

In response to these recommendations, the Federal Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, along with senior officials and high-level officers of Pakistan Railways, visited Rohri Railway Station to assess the ground realities.

During the visit, the Federal Minister issued directives for the comprehensive upgradation and renovation of the entire station.

The instructions included improving waiting areas, sanitation facilities, passenger amenities, and overall infrastructure to ensure convenience and comfort for commuters.

The Minister emphasized that Pakistan Railways is committed to modernizing its infrastructure and enhancing service delivery standards across the country, in line with the government’s vision to transform the railways sector into an efficient and passenger-friendly system.

This development highlights the proactive role of the Federal Ombudsman in addressing public grievances and ensuring that government departments remain responsive to the needs of citizens. The timely intervention has led to concrete steps toward improving facilities at one of the key railway junctions in the region, providing much-needed relief to daily commuters and travellers.
