FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has launched a special electricity conservation campaign across its region on the directives of the Ministry of Energy Power Division Pakistan to promote efficient use of power and reduce unnecessary consumption.

According to FESCO spokesman Engineer Muhammad Saeed Raza, the campaign has been initiated under the supervision of FESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Engineer Muhammad Aamir with the objective of minimizing avoidable electricity usage, easing pressure on load management and enabling consumers to significantly reduce their monthly electricity bills.

He said that the campaign will focus on creating public awareness regarding energy conservation and encouraging consumers to adopt practical measures to save electricity.

He said that avoiding the use of high-load electrical appliances during peak hours could substantially reduce the burden on the power system, leading to improved load management and a more stable electricity supply.

The consumers should limit the use of electric motors, irons, ovens and other heavy appliances during peak hours while the agricultural users should refrain from operating tube wells during these hours to help reduce the overall load on the system, he added.

FESCO spokesman emphasized maximizing the use of natural daylight to cut down electricity consumption during daytime and advised consumers to use electricity strictly within their sanctioned load limits.

All electrical appliances should be switched off when leaving homes or offices, and before going to sleep, he added.

He recommended the use of energy-efficient devices such as LED bulbs and energy savers in homes and offices to achieve better illumination with lower electricity consumption.

The consumers should set computers and other digital devices on auto-sleep mode, as standby mode also contributes to energy wastage, he added.

He said that setting air conditioners at 26 degrees Celsius and operating refrigerators and other appliances at appropriate temperatures could also lead to significant energy savings.

Meanwhile, FESCO Chief Engineer Muhammad Aamir said that collective efforts could not only reduce pressure on the power system but also help lower consumers’ monthly expenses. He stressed that efficient energy use was need of the hour and every citizen must fulfill this national responsibility by ensuring careful consumption of electricity.

He appealed to the public to fully cooperate in the campaign so that limited energy resources could be utilized effectively. FESCO would, however, ensure uninterrupted power supply and contribute to overcome energy challenges of the country, he added.
