ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jul, 2026) Allottees of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority's (FGEHA) Green Enclave-I housing scheme have urged the authority to convene its Executive Board meeting at the earliest, expressing hope that approval of the agenda related to the project would pave the way for the resumption of the remaining infrastructure development work after nearly 17 years of delay.

According to the allottees, the Executive Board meeting has now become the most crucial stage in determining the future of the long-delayed project. Their optimism was based on a series of recent meetings with senior FGEHA officials, who assured that efforts were being made to remove the legal, administrative and contractual hurdles that had slowed down the project over the years.

Last month, a delegation of Green Enclave-I allottees met Director General FGEHA, Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, who informed them that the authority was working to resolve all outstanding issues before placing the Green Enclave-I case before the Executive Board. According to the allottees, the Director General also expressed confidence that they would hear "good news" regarding the project in early August.

A few weeks later, representatives of the allottees again met Project Director Green Enclave-I, Mohsin Sardar, to seek an update on the implementation of the assurances given by the Director General. During that meeting, the Project Director informed the delegation that negotiations with the joint venture partner had almost been finalized and that the mutually agreed terms and conditions would be submitted to the Executive Board for approval.

According to the allottees, both the Director General and the Project Director assured them that once the Executive Board approved the proposal, the remaining infrastructure development work would resume without further delay.

Speaking to the APP, Chaudhary Amjad Ali, who was spearheading the allottees' movement, said thousands of government employees had fulfilled all their financial obligations years ago but were still waiting for possession of their plots. "The Executive Board meeting should be convened without any delay because it is a highly sensitive matter for thousands of affected families. We hope the authority will honour its commitments and approve the proposal so that development work can finally restart," he said.

Another allottee, Fazal-e-Maula, a retired principal of a government educational institution, said he had invested his lifetime savings in the project with the dream of building a home for his family. "I have now retired from service, and my only wish is to construct a house for my children. I hope the Executive Board meeting will remove all remaining hurdles and allow the development work in Green Enclave-I to resume," he said.

Amjad Khan, another allottee, said the executive board meeting had become the focal point for all affected members. "All eyes of the allottees are on the Executive Board meeting. The decisions taken there will determine our future course of action. We sincerely hope the authority will fulfill the assurances given to us and bring an end to this 17-year wait," he said.
