ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad has busted an organized network of touts operating outside the G-10 Passport Office, arresting three suspects allegedly involved in illegally obtaining passports on an emergency and priority basis in collusion with a passport office employee.

An FIA official told APP on Wednesday that the operation was launched after receiving credible intelligence and obtaining approval from the competent authority to crack down on agents exploiting citizens seeking passport services.

During the targeted raid, the prime suspect, Muhammad Muzammil, was arrested on the spot. Initial investigation revealed that he allegedly charged Rs20,000 per case from applicants, particularly those from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, by arranging passports on a priority basis using fake Islamabad residential addresses.

The official said that, on the disclosure of the main suspect, two more alleged accomplices, Naseer Ahmed and Muhammad Tasawur, were also arrested during the operation.

He said forensic examination of the suspects' mobile phones revealed that Naseer Ahmed regularly shared applicants' token numbers with a passport office employee, identified as Raza, through WhatsApp.

In return, the official allegedly provided box IDs to facilitate priority processing of passport applications.

The investigation further revealed that the passport office employee allegedly received substantial payments through an Easypaisa account, establishing a money trail that investigators believe indicates his direct involvement in the illegal network.

The official said a case had been registered against the arrested suspects under relevant laws. They were produced before a competent court, which granted the FIA two-day physical remand for further investigation.

He added that the role of passport office employee Raza and any other persons involved would be determined during the ongoing investigation.

The FIA urged citizens to avoid dealing with touts or unauthorized agents for government services and instead approach the relevant departments directly. It also appealed to the public to report any such illegal activities to the FIA for prompt legal action.

Further investigation is underway.
