ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), in collaboration with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), has initiated coordinated national efforts to combat fraudulent job advertisements by developing a comprehensive awareness campaign, following a two-day consultative workshop held in the federal capital.
An official told APP on Tuesday that the workshop on Information, education and Communication (IEC) materials brought together key stakeholders from major national institutions including Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (MOPHRD), Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment, Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), Ministry of Interior (MOI), National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB), Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), National Press Bureau (NPB), Islamabad Police, National CERT Pakistan, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Migrant Resource Centre Pakistan.
He said the sessions were led by national awareness expert Qaiser Siddiqui, focusing on strengthening strategies to counter fake job advertisements and related cyber activities.
During the workshop, participating agencies including PTA, National CERT, FIA, NCCIA and Migrant Resource Centres presented their ongoing awareness initiatives aimed at addressing fraudulent job advertisements within their respective domains.
The official said these presentations provided valuable insights into existing communication approaches, outreach mechanisms and messaging strategies, which would serve as a foundation for the upcoming national awareness campaign.
He said the workshop also included interactive group activities, where participants reviewed existing materials, identified gaps and overlaps, and proposed practical recommendations to improve coordination.
The exercises concluded with presentations and detailed discussions, promoting knowledge sharing and enhancing inter-agency collaboration.
The official said the workshop ended with key takeaways and consensus on future directions to strengthen unified awareness efforts against fraudulent job advertisements.
He added that the initiative was part of the “Preventing Fraudulent Job Advertisements and Cyber Activity as a Facilitator of Irregular Migration and Trafficking in Human Beings in Pakistan (FJA-PAK)” project, funded by the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) and implemented by ICMPD.
