The cheapest ticket for Friday's quarter-final in Los Angeles has fallen from nearly $2,950 to around $1,200, say reports
WASHHINGTON: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 8th, 2026) The ticket prices on the secondary market for several FIFA World Cup quarter-final matches have dropped sharply following the elimination of the United States and Portugal from the tournament.
The market reports said that the cheapest ticket for Friday's quarter-final in Los Angeles has fallen from nearly $2,950 to around $1,200, reflecting a significant decline in demand after both teams were knocked out.
The United States exited the tournament after losing to Belgium, while Spain defeated Portugal, ending the World Cup campaign of Portuguese captain Cristiano Ronaldo.
Industry analysts said ticket demand would likely have been much higher had the United States and Portugal progressed to face each other in the quarter-finals, particularly given Ronaldo's global popularity and the strong home support for the US team.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Meanwhile, the quarter-final between France and Morocco is currently the most affordable fixture of the round, with entry-level tickets available for approximately $989.
Despite the decline in quarter-final prices, demand for the World Cup final remains strong. The cheapest tickets for the championship match, scheduled for July 19 in New Jersey, are currently listed at around $9,346 on the resale market.
Market observers expect ticket prices for the final to fluctuate further depending on which teams qualify for the title decider, with demand likely to rise if globally popular teams advance.
Recent market data also shows a noticeable drop in the average resale price of quarter-final tickets, alongside a significant increase in the number of tickets available for purchase, indicating softer demand following the early exits of two of the tournament's biggest attractions.
