The federal government has officially notified the Eid ul Fitr 2026 public holidays in Pakistan. Starting March 20, citizens will observe a four-day break combining Eid festivities with Pakistan Day. While the Cabinet Division confirms office closures, SUPARCO’s scientific moon sighting predictions suggest a 30-day Ramzan 2026 for most Pakistanis.
The Cabinet Division just cleared the air on the Eid holidays 2026. The government officially designated March 20 and 21 as the primary Eid ul Fitr 2026 public holidays.

Because March 22 falls on a Sunday and March 23 is Pakistan Day, the country is looking at a seamless four-day weekend. Whether you work a five-day or six-day week, these Eid holidays in Pakistan apply to you. All public institutions and government offices will shut their doors this Friday and Saturday.
When is Eid ul Fitr 2026?
SUPARCO estimate the Shawwal crescent will be only 12 hours old on March 19. Scientists say the moon needs to be at least 20 hours old for us to see it.
This means Eid in Pakistan 2026 likely lands on Saturday, March 21. We expect Ramzan 2026 to complete a full 30-day cycle. However, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee holds the final word. They will meet this Thursday to confirm the official start of Eid al-Fitr.
Travel and Services
Four special trains started operating today, March 16. While the Govt announces Eid holidays to give us a break, essential staff like doctors and emergency responders will stay on duty.
Expect local markets to stay crowded until late Thursday night. This Pakistan Eid holidays schedule provides the perfect window to celebrate without rushing back to the office. Stay tuned for the final moon sighting announcement on Thursday evening.
