Financial aid, wheelchairs distributed among persons with disabilities in Sukkur

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal in collaboration with social organization Network of Organizations Working for Persons with Disabilities (NOWPDP) distributed financial assistance cheques among 30 persons with disabilities and 20 wheelchairs.

The event took place at the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD) Complex, Special Education school here on Saturday.

Commissioner Sukkur, Abid Saleem Qureshi was the chief guest at the ceremony.

Regional Director DEPD Abdul Qudoos Memon, Assistant Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Sukkur Shabbir Ahmed Memon, NOWPDP Center Manager Ashraf Pathan and Khalid Rind were also present on the occasion.

During the ceremony, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Sukkur distributed a total of Rs 1 million in financial assistance among 30 persons with disabilities, including men and women, in the form of cheques worth Rs 30,000 each.

NOWPDP Center distributed wheelchairs among 20 persons with disabilities.

Chief guest Commissioner Abid Saleem Qureshi distributed the cheques and wheelchairs among the beneficiaries.

Speaking at the event, Commissioner Sukkur Division Abid Saleem Qureshi said that persons with disabilities were part of our society.

He said that it is the responsibility of the government and administrative institutions to provide guidance, welfare, education and employment opportunities to persons with disabilities.

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the welfare activities of the organizations.
