Fire drill held to mark International Firefighters’ Day

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) Rescue 1122 Sialkot organized a mock emergency drill at Forward sports Sahowala

on Monday in connection with International Firefighters’ Day, aimed at reviewing

preparedness for potential emergencies.

According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the exercise was conducted under the supervision

of District Emergency Officer Engineer Naveed Iqbal. The drill simulated emergency situations

such as fire outbreaks and earthquake response, enabling rescue teams to assess coordination,

response time, and operational efficiency.

Rescue officials said the objective of exercise was to ensure timely and effective response

to emergencies and enhance the capacity of staff to deal with hazardous situations.

The activity

also helped in identifying gaps and improving safety protocols at industrial premises.

Speaking on the occasion, officials highlighted that International Firefighters’ Day was observed

worldwide to honor the courage, dedication, and sacrifices of firefighters who risk their lives to

protect communities. They reiterated that such drills were essential to maintain a high level of

readiness and safeguard lives and property in case of disasters.
