Firewall system to be installed at 14 Punjab libraries

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th May, 2026) To secure the digital system of public sector libraries, the Punjab government has decided to install firewall systems in 14 libraries, across the province.

According to official sources, the action is aimed at preventing cyber attacks, access to irrelevant websites and immoral content.

Under the project, library members will be provided access only to educational, research and scholarly content, while access to unnecessary websites will be restricted.

The project cost is estimated at Rs 50 million. Formal approval has been obtained from the relevant forums.
