Firing at wedding hall leaves one dead, two injured

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2026) A firing incident at a wedding hall located on the busy Dilazak Road in Peshawar late night, resulted in one death and injuries to two others.

According to the police on Sunday, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Shahpur Police Station in Pakha Ghulam area. The suspects, identified as Shahzeb, Shayan, sons of Jehan Zeb and Waqas, son of Jehangir, residents of Hazarkhwani, allegedly shot dead a man identified as Muhammad Ali, son of Kachkol.

A passerby, Bashirullah, son of Akbar Shah, was injured.

Police stated that the motive behind the incident was a verbal altercation that occurred earlier at Taj Wedding Hall.

Upon receiving the information, SHO Shahpur, Fawad Khan, along with police personnel reached the scene immediately. The body was shifted for post-mortem, while the injured was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

A case has been registered and efforts are underway to arrest the suspects.
