Five gamblers held, Rs 85,000 stake money seized

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) The district police arrested five individuals and seized Rs 85,000 during a raid on a gambling gathering in the limits of Shorkot police station.

The operation was carried out on the directives of the District Police Officer, under the supervision of SP City Murtaza Khan Bangash. Acting on a tip-off, a team of Shorkot Police Station led by SHO Asghar Khan Wazir conducted a raid on a gambling session and apprehended the suspects on the spot.

The arrested individuals were identified as Farhatullah son of Qudratullah, a resident of Bab-e-Dera; Ahmad Jamal son of Khan Bahadur, resident of CRBC Colony; Sanaullah son of Mirzai, a resident of CRBC Chowk; Inayatullah son of Sardar Agha Jan, resident of Hanif Town on Dyal Road; and Mujeeb-ur-Rehman son of Kalu, a resident of Daraban Chungi.

The police have also recovered Rs 85,000 that was allegedly being used for betting. A case has been registered against the accused, and they have been shifted to jail for further legal proceedings.
