PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) At least five people were killed in a fierce exchange of gunfire between two rival groups in a remote village of Nizampur in Nowshera district on Monday.
Police said the incident took place in Mandori village, where a long-standing property dispute escalated into a violent clash.
The rival groups used modern and automatic weapons indiscriminately during the bloody encounter.
As a result, four individuals from one group and one person from the opposing group were killed on the spot.
Upon receiving information about the incident, District Police Officer Ahmed Shah dispatched a heavy police contingent to the scene under the leadership of SDPO Akora Khattak, Akhtar Naseer Khan.
District police spokesperson Turk Ali Shah told the media that the area was immediately cordoned off and a search operation was launched. During the operation, two active members of the Ataullah group—identified as Haider Zaman and Raza Khan—were arrested.
Police also recovered a Kalashnikov rifle and a pistol allegedly used in the incident from the suspects.
