Five Mirpurkhas range police officials suspended over alleged links to drug trafficking

MIRPURKHAS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jun, 2026) Sindh Police have suspended five officers and personnel of the Mirpurkhas Range with immediate effect over allegations of providing patronage to drug traffickers and directed them to report to "B" Company, PHQ Garden, Karachi, according to an official notification issued by the Establishment Branch on Monday.

The suspended officials include former CIA In-charge Umerkot Inspector Khalilullah Kumbhar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Zakir Ali Jarwar of Dilbar Mehr Police Station, Police Constable Muhammad Ramzan Bajeer, Police Constable Mola Bakhsh Khoso and Police Constable Shahid Laghari. The order states that all five officials have been relieved of their duties pending further proceedings.

According to the notification, Inspector Khalilullah Kumbhar, who was posted in Mithi district of Tharparkar and had previously served as CIA In-charge Umerkot, faces allegations of extending large-scale patronage to narcotics traffickers. The other suspended personnel were serving in Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar and Umerkot districts at the time of the action.

The notification directed all suspended officials to immediately report to "B" Company, PHQ Garden, Karachi. No further details regarding the inquiry or disciplinary proceedings were disclosed in the order.
