ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Pakistan Tennis Federation organized Subh-e-Nau ITF Pakistan Junior International Tennis Championship (Leg-II) continued with exciting matches at the PTF Tennis Complex on Tuesday, with five Pakistani players advancing to the boys’ singles quarterfinals.

The international junior event has attracted strong participation, featuring 22 boys and 19 girls from 15 countries, including Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Japan, China, Australia, Russia, Poland, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and Thailand.

In an impressive showing, Pakistan’s Mikaael Ali Baig, Hamza Roman, Abubakar Talha, Amir Mazari and Ahtesham Humayun secured their places in the last eight of the boys’ singles competition.

Mikaael Ali Baig dominated compatriot Abdaar Ali with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory, while Ahtesham Humayun fought hard to overcome Turkey’s Sarp Akan Ercan in a three-set encounter, winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. Hamza Roman registered a straight-sets win against Hong Kong’s Jamie Chen, 6-3, 6-3.

Abubakar Talha advanced after China’s Ruoyu Hua retired in the second set, while Amir Mazari progressed via walkover against India’s Agarwal.

Other notable results in the boys’ category saw Hong Kong’s Jayden Park defeating Hugo Bailey of the Netherlands 6-2, 6-1, China’s Heran Zhang overcoming Ho Wan Yeung 6-4, 6-0, and Sri Lanka’s Ganuka Fernando beating Kinki Shi 6-2, 6-1.

In the girls’ singles second round, top performances were recorded by players from China, Kazakhstan and Russia. China’s Yitong Lu advanced via walkover, while Russia’s Varvara Rubtsova defeated Japan’s Kiko Okuyama in a three-set contest, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.

Kazakhstan’s Safiia Urazalina outclassed Pakistan’s Romaisa Malik 6-0, 6-1, while China’s Ai Teng and Zhiyyu Zhou also secured convincing wins in straight sets. Kazakhstan’s Yelizaveta Slepchenko defeated Pakistan’s Zunaisha Noor 6-3, 6-4.

Other winners included China’s Zihan Feng and Yijia Wang, who progressed after strong performances against their respective opponents.

The championship is being supported by leading sponsors, including Bank Alfalah, Serena Hotel Islamabad, Arif Habib Group, MRI Energies, and Subh-e-Nau.

The matches will resume on Wednesday at 10:00 am, with quarterfinal clashes expected to provide further thrilling action at the venue.
