Foolproof security arrangements finalised for Pak-Australia series

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th May, 2026) Police have finalized comprehensive security and traffic arrangements for the Pak- Australia Cricket Series practice sessions being held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

According to police spokesperson, more than 3,500 police officers and personnel have been deployed to perform security duties during the practice sessions on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO), Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani.

In addition, over 300 traffic police officials have been assigned to ensure smooth traffic flow and facilitate cricket fans and commuters around the stadium and adjoining areas.

The CPO said senior police officers were actively visiting the field to inspect and brief the deployed force regarding security measures and operational responsibilities.

As part of the security arrangements, snipers have been deployed on rooftops, while monitoring is being carried out through Safe City and other CCTV cameras.

A separate control room has also been established for continuous surveillance and coordination.

Police have increased deployment at important public places, while special monitoring of bus terminals and hotels is also being conducted.

Mobile police units, Elite Force and Dolphin Squad teams are continuously patrolling areas surrounding the stadium to maintain law and order.

CPO Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani said effective traffic management plans had been implemented for the convenience of citizens and cricket spectators.

He added that foolproof security arrangements were being ensured for the successful and peaceful conduct of the cricket series.
