Foolproof security finalized for Muharram processions across Balochistan

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) Balochistan authorities have finalized security arrangements for Muharram processions across the province, with special focus on Quetta.

According to DIG Police Quetta Imran Shoukat, mobile phone services will remain suspended on the 9th of Muharram as part of precautionary measures. For the 10th of Muharram, the central mourning procession has been given foolproof security arrangements.

Heavy contingents of police and Frontier Corps (FC) will be deployed along procession routes. The routes have been subjected to sweeping and checking operations and will be completely sealed to ensure safety, Imran Shoukat.

In addition, entry and exit points of the city have been secured with strict monitoring.

DIG Quetta further stated that the central procession will also be monitored through aerial surveillance, while all markets and shops along the routes will remain sealed during the mourning processions.

These measures reflect the provincial government’s commitment to maintaining peace, security, and public safety during the sacred month of Muharram.
