Forest Dept takes action against SDO Operation Mariabad of QESCO for illegal cutting of trees

Balochistan Forest and Wildlife Department on Monday immediately took notice of the pictures and videos of illegal felling of trees on Alamdar Road in Quetta area going viral on social media as QESCO Mariabad are involved in cutting of illegally trees

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jun, 2026) Balochistan Forest and Wildlife Department on Monday immediately took notice of the pictures and videos of illegal felling of trees on Alamdar Road in Quetta area going viral on social media as QESCO Mariabad are involved in cutting of illegally trees.

A team of the Quetta Forest Department visited the affected areas of Alamdar Road.

According to Niaz Kakar, Conservator of Forest Department Quetta, during the inspection of tree felling, it was found that officials of WAPDA’s QESCO Mariabad are involved in felling and cutting of trees.

He said that on which the Forest Department has initiated legal action including registering an FIR against the concerned SDO Operation Quetta of QESCO and in this regard.

He said that all available evidence and inspection reports would be presented in the esteemed court for appropriate legal action against the elements involved in felling of trees.

He said that the Forest and Wildlife Department is committed to the protection of trees and would pursue this serious matter as per the law.
