Former Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim contracts second marriage after divorce with Sania Ashfaq

Cricketer through a message says his first marriage did not succeed, describes that period as one of the most challenging phases of his life

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Feb 17^th, 2026) Former Pakistan international all-rounder Imad Wasim has announced that he has contracted a second marriage, sharing the news through a detailed statement on social media.

In his message, Imad said his first marriage did not succeed, describing that period as one of the most challenging phases of his life. Despite the difficulties, he termed his children the greatest blessing he received from that relationship, expressing unconditional love for them and affirming that his bond with them would never diminish.

Reflecting on the past, the cricketer stated that he remained patient for a long time and continued striving to preserve what mattered most to him. However, he acknowledged that certain decisions and prolonged silence on his part led to a situation where an innocent individual was subjected to criticism that, in his view, was undeserved. He accepted responsibility for the circumstances that unfolded publicly.

Imad revealed that, with the guidance of his parents and what he described as divine grace, he has now married Nyla. He said the decision was made after careful thought and with clear intentions to build a life founded on peace, stability and mutual respect. According to him, Nyla has brought dignity and calm into his life.

Emphasizing his role as a father, Imad said his foremost commitment remains to his children. He remarked that fatherhood is not limited to financial support but also includes presence, affection and guidance. He added that despite his efforts, he has been unable to meet his children and expressed a desire to play an active and meaningful role in their lives.

He appealed to the public to treat his personal matters with respect and discretion, stressing that not every issue requires public debate and that moving forward with empathy and boundaries is often the most dignified course.

Imad had filed for divorce from Sania Ashfaq in December 2025. The couple, who married in 2019, share three children. At the time, he stated that longstanding differences between them could not be resolved and requested privacy, urging people not to circulate old photographs or construct narratives about their personal lives.

Following the announcement of his second marriage, Sania Ashfaq shared videos and images of the ceremony on social media and publicly criticized Imad and his new spouse. She stated that the evidence was now before the public and said she was seeking justice for her children.
