Foundation stone of Ladies Bar laid

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen has laid foundation stone of a dedicated Ladies Bar at the District Bar Association to facilitate women lawyers and promote their professional growth in the legal fraternity.

The Divisional Commissioner unveiled inaugural plaque of the project during a ceremony attended by District Bar Association President Tariq Mahmood, Secretary Kaleem Ullah Gill and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Madam Musarrat Jabeen said that Punjab government under the vision of Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz was committed to ensure maximum facilities to women in every sector.

She said that practical measures were being taken to support women's advancement and create a more conducive working environment for them.

She termed the establishment of Ladies Bar a commendable initiative and said that the project would provide women lawyers a comfortable and professional space, enabling them to perform their duties more effectively.

She said that Tehsil Ladies Bar Rooms were also being constructed across the division to facilitate women members of the legal profession and strengthen their participation in judicial and legal affairs.

Highlighting the growing role of women in the legal sector, she said that presence of more than 1,000 women lawyers in the Faisalabad Bar was an encouraging development and reflected the increasing contribution of women to the legal profession.

She said that women were demonstrating their capabilities in every field and achieving remarkable success through dedication, competence and hard work.

Provision of better facilities would further encourage their active participation in professional activities, she added.

District Bar Association President Tariq Mahmood said that the bar administration was making continuous efforts to provide women lawyers a pleasant, secure and conducive working environment.

The new facility would help improve professional services and create greater convenience for female members of the legal community, he added.
