Four children drown in Hangu pond

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st May, 2026) At least four children, including two brothers drowned while swimming in a water pond near a small dam in the Kotki area of Hangu, rescue officials said on Sunday.

As per details, five children were bathing in the pond when they got into deeper water and started drowning.

Rescue teams managed to save one child, while four others lost their lives.

Rescue authorities confirmed that two of the deceased were real brothers. The victims were between 5 and 8 years old.

The tragic incident has cast a shadow of grief over the local community and authorities have urged parents to keep children away from unsafe water ponds.
