Four family's members killed in roof collapse incident

CHNIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Four members of the same family were killed and a young woman seriously injured after the roof of an under-construction house caved in Tehsil Lalian area, the Rescue 1122 sources said on Thursday.

The incident occurred overnight in the Bashir Colony area along Kandiwal Road in Tehsil Lalian .

According to Rescue 1122, the family had been sleeping in a room when the roof suddenly collapsed, burying them under rubble.

The Rescue1122 teams began a search operation under the supervision of District Emergency Officer, Tahira Khan.

The officials said all available resources were used in an effort to reach the trapped.

The bodies had been identified as Waqar, 22, and Waqas, 20 along with 50-year-old Razia Bibi and 50-year-old Ghulam Mohammad.

The sources said the deceased were members of the same household, including parents and their two sons.

The Rescue workers recovered the bodies from the debris and handed them over to the heirs .

An 18-year-old woman, Zainab, was pulled from the rubble with injuries and given first aid.

The preliminary reports suggested the collapse had been caused by excessive load on the building, though officials said an investigation was under way.
