MASTUNG: Security forces on Friday conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Khadkocha area of Mastung district, Balochistan, killing four terrorists and recovering weapons and ammunition, security sources said.
According to security sources, the operation was carried out as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts under Operation Azm, targeting militants belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan.
A significant quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the killed militants, while motorcycles allegedly used during militant activities were also seized, the sources added.
Several other militants were reportedly injured during the operation, while a number of suspected facilitators allegedly involved in supporting militant activities were arrested.
Following the operation, security forces launched search and clearance operations in the area to trace any remaining militants and ensure security. Surveillance measures were also being maintained to prevent further militant activity.
The operation was intensified after recent militant activities in Khadkocha, according to security sources. They said security forces would continue intelligence-based operations against militants until the threat of terrorism is eliminated and peace and stability are restored in the region.
