ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Hungary have agreed to enhance economic cooperation in key sectors including agriculture, information technology, energy, and infrastructure, signaling a renewed push to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties.
The understanding was reached during a visit by Hungarian Ambassador to Pakistan, Zoltán Varga-Haszonits, to the FPCCI, where he met with FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh and senior office bearers at the Federation’s capital office, said a release issued here on Monday.
The meeting focused on expanding bilateral trade volume, promoting investment opportunities, and fostering industrial collaboration between Pakistan and Hungary.
Both sides also discussed the exchange of business delegations and explored the possibility of launching joint venture projects in areas of mutual interest.
Speaking on the occasion, Atif Ikram Sheikh emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in agricultural
technology, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and IT.
He noted that Pakistan offers a “One-Window” facility and a business-friendly environment for foreign investors.
He invited Hungarian companies to explore opportunities in energy, infrastructure development, and auto parts manufacturing, particularly within Pakistan’s growing industrial hubs.
The FPCCI president underscored the need for practical and result-oriented measures to enhance economic engagement, suggesting the organization of business-to-business (B2B) meetings and joint business forums to give new momentum to bilateral trade relations.
Ambassador Zoltán Varga-Haszonits reaffirmed Hungary’s commitment to deepening economic ties with Pakistan. He highlighted Hungary’s expertise in modern agricultural machinery, water management systems, and healthcare technology, noting that Hungarian companies are well-positioned to contribute to Pakistan’s development priorities.
The ambassador assured full support for promoting investment and expressed optimism that economic cooperation between the two countries is poised to enter a new phase of growth and partnership.
