Fraudsters held after car taken away for test drive recovered

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Mar, 2026) City Police arrested two fraudsters within twelve hours after they took away a car from a show room on the pretext of test drive but did not return, police said on Wednesday.

According to the police spokesman, the incident occurred at Awan Motors where two individuals, posing as customers, showed interest in purchasing a car. The suspects took a Toyota GLI, worth approximately Rs2.

5 million, for a test drive but failed to return, raising suspicion among the showroom management.

Upon receiving the complaint, police sprang into action and traced the vehicle

with the assistance of Safe City surveillance mechanism. By that time, the car had already moved out of the city's jurisdiction.

The police tracked the suspects and intercepted the vehicle at Mianchannu Bypass. Both accused were arrested on the spot, and the car was successfully recovered.
