Fruit,vegetable market up-gradation will benefit business,public,farmers:DC

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner(DC),Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhary on Wednesday said the up-gradation of the central fruit and vegetable market would not only boost business activities but also provide improved facilities to citizens and farmers.

According to a spokesperson for the district administration,a comprehensive development and rehabilitation project has been launched for the city’s central fruit and vegetable market under the personal supervision of the deputy commissioner.

Established in 1996,the market has been serving traders,growers and consumers for nearly three decades and now requires modernization in line with present-day needs.

Under the project,authorities will focus on improving infrastructure,strengthening sanitation arrangements,upgrading the drainage system,streamlining traffic flow,improving parking facilities and enhancing public amenities.

The initiative aims to ensure a cleaner,safer and more organized environment for traders,transporters,farmers and visitors.

The development work will be carried out through the Engineering Wing of the Punjab Agricultural Marketing Regulatory Authority (PAMRA).

Officials said the project reflects the Punjab government’s vision to modernize agricultural markets and improve marketing services across the province.
