Funeral prayer of martyred cop offered in police line Peshawar

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jun, 2026) Funeral prayer for police official Lance Head Constable (LHC) Hamza, who was martyred in a firing incident in the Matani area here, was offered with full state honours at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines on Tuesday.

Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed, Commander 102 Brigade, Chief Traffic Officer Dr. Zahidullah, SSP Operations Farhan Khan, SSP Coordination Irfan Amir, SP Headquarters Ali Gohar, family members of the martyr, police officers and a large number of personnel attended the funeral.

A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honour, while senior officials of the police and Pakistan Army laid floral wreaths on the coffin and offered prayers for the departed soul.

Speaking on the occasion, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed and CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and paid tribute to the sacrifice of the martyred officer.

They said the blood of the martyr would not go in vain and reiterated the resolve of the police force to continue its mission of protecting lives and property and maintaining peace in the province.

According to police, LHC Hamza, posted at Hashtnagri Police Station and a resident of Pasani in Matani here, was allegedly abducted from his home by unidentified assailants late on June 1.

His body was later found in the Adezai Khwar area within the jurisdiction of Matani Police Station, where he had been shot dead.
