ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) The administration of Federal urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) has stated that certain vested and disruptive elements are deeply disturbed by the university’s ongoing positive academic, research, and internationally recognized activities.
According to the administration, these elements are deliberately exaggerating minor and insignificant issues in an attempt to damage the reputation of the university and Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari, said a press release.
The administration said that FUUAST is currently achieving remarkable success in academic excellence, research, and international collaboration. Faculty members and students of the university are proving their capabilities not only at the national level but also internationally. Recently, teachers and students of the university secured research projects worth thousands of Dollars from the American Chemical Society, which reflects the institution’s strong academic reputation and research standards.
Similarly, the effective participation of FUUAST faculty and students in the Russia-Pakistan International Conference held in Kazan, Russia, played a significant role in strengthening educational and research ties between Pakistan and Russia, further enhancing the university’s reputation.
The administration clarified that under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari, practical measures are being implemented to ensure austerity, transparency, and long-term administrative stability within the institution. Despite limited resources, the university maintained financial discipline and released two months’ salaries during the current month, while substantial reductions in fuel and other expenditures resulted in savings worth millions of rupees. According to the administration, nearly 80 percent reduction in fuel expenses has been achieved under the Vice Chancellor’s vision, which is being regarded as a major administrative success.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The administration further stated that the university is being transformed from an ad-hoc system towards a permanent and merit-based structure. However, certain elements are uncomfortable with a permanent Vice Chancellor and a transparent administrative system because decisions are now being made on merit and institutional principles rather than personal interests. These groups are allegedly resorting to baseless propaganda and false allegations to maintain their monopoly and vested interests.
The administration also strongly rejected the impression that university resources are used for the Vice Chancellor’s foreign visits. According to the spokesperson, such allegations are entirely baseless, fabricated, and contrary to facts. All matters related to foreign visits are conducted strictly in accordance with rules and regulations, and no misuse of university resources takes place.
The university administration maintained that certain disruptive elements are attempting to sensationalize trivial matters in order to harm not only the institution’s reputation but also the overall academic environment for students and faculty members. It added that the misuse of social and electronic media by government employees to malign the university constitutes a violation of rules and regulations, and strict disciplinary action will be taken against such individuals under university laws.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to transforming FUUAST into a strong, autonomous, research-oriented, and internationally recognized university, stating that no negative propaganda would be allowed to hinder the institution’s progress and development.
