FWCCI hails Pakistan role in ceasefire

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry President Shahida Aftab and Founder President Rubina Amjad have welcomed the announcement of an immediate ceasefire between Iran and the United States, calling it a historic and encouraging step toward regional stability.

In a joint statement, they praised the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif and Syed Asim Munir for promoting diplomacy and restraint.

The leaders stressed that halting hostilities could help prevent humanitarian suffering, protect trade routes, and rebuild regional confidence.

They expressed hope that the ceasefire would lead to a long-term peace agreement based on mutual respect, sovereignty, and dialogue.

Highlighting the economic perspective, they stated that peace in the middle East is vital for global stability, energy security, and trade. They added that regional stability directly benefits Pakistan’s economy, including supply chains, exports, and women-led business growth in Faisalabad.

They also appreciated international diplomatic efforts behind the ceasefire and urged all parties to continue negotiations toward a sustainable and peaceful resolution.
