A local court in the federal capital on Monday granted an exemption filed by former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the audio leak case, allowing him to remain absent from the proceedings

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) A local court in the Federal capital on Monday granted an exemption filed by former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the audio leak case, allowing him to remain absent from the proceedings.

The hearing was conducted by Additional Sessions Judge Nasr Ullah Khan Baloch at the District and Sessions Court, Islamabad. The court approved the exemption plea submitted on behalf of Gandapur, who did not appear in person.

Due to the unavailability of the accused, the statements of prosecution witnesses could not be recorded.

Consequently, the court directed the prosecution to summon its witnesses again for the next hearing and adjourned the case until May 18.

It is pertinent to mention that an FIR has been registered against Ali Amin Gandapur at Golra police station in connection with the audio leak case.

Further proceedings will resume on May 18, when the court is expected to record witness testimony.
