QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Quetta organized a seminar titled “Central Asia Market Access: Opportunities in Balochistan Export Sector” at the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The event brought together traders, exporters, entrepreneurs, and government officials to explore new avenues for connecting Balochistan’s exports with Central Asian markets.
The session opened with a welcome address by Mola Dad, Deputy Director TDAP Quetta. This was followed by a presentation from Asif Abro, Assistant Director TDAP, who highlighted Balochistan’s export potential in fisheries, livestock, halal meat, fruits, minerals, and pharmaceuticals.
He emphasized Gwadar Port’s strategic role as a gateway to Central Asia and outlined trade corridors through Afghanistan, Iran, and China, along with existing trade agreements. TDAP also shared its support initiatives in market intelligence, logistics, promotion, and certification facilitation.
During the interactive question and answer session, moderated by Noor Ali Achakzai, Director TDAP Quetta, participants raised concerns about visa delays, slaughterhouse shortages, licensing challenges, transport constraints, and customs procedures.
These issues were addressed professionally, with suggestions and recommendations noted for follow-up with relevant authorities.
The seminar saw strong participation from young entrepreneurs, reflecting growing interest in regional trade opportunities. Officials from the Balochistan government reaffirmed their commitment to supporting exporters, while Chamber of Commerce Vice President Mir Wais praised TDAP’s efforts and stressed the importance of public-private collaboration for sustainable export growth.
Concluding the seminar, participants agreed that through collective efforts, Balochistan can be developed into a regional export hub—connecting Pakistan with Central Asian markets through improved connectivity, policy reforms, and a more business-friendly environment for exporters and entrepreneurs.
