GCUF opens admissions for 2026-27 session, offers wide range of programs and scholarships

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jun, 2026) The Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) has officially announced admissions for the semester fall 2026-27, offering a wide spectrum of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs along with multiple national and need-based scholarship opportunities for talented students across Pakistan and abroad.

According to university spokesman, the admissions have been opened in BS (four-year and five-year) programs, associate degree programs, MS/MPhil, PhD, postgraduate diploma (PGD) and bridging programs across various disciplines including science, arts, business studies, social sciences, computer science, engineering, management, and emerging interdisciplinary fields.

He said that applications are invited from both Pakistani and foreign nationals through the online admission system. The candidates would be required to submit applications within the stipulated deadline while merit-based selection would be ensured in accordance with university and regulatory criteria, he added.

GCUF spokesman highlighted that several prestigious scholarships would be available for deserving students including CM Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship Program, the HEC need-based scholarships, PEEF scholarships and other financial assistance schemes aimed at supporting access to higher education.

He said that the university continues to maintain strong academic standing, with international ranking recognition in Times Higher Education (THE) and QS World University Rankings, reflecting its growing academic reputation at national and global levels.

The admissions are also open at GCUF sub-campuses including Chiniot, Hafizabad and Samundri campuses, offering BS degree programs and bridging pathways for students from diverse academic backgrounds under semester-based systems, he added.

He said that the applicants for BS programs would be selected on merit in line with eligibility criteria while certain programs would require entry tests and interviews as per departmental requirements.

The candidates applying for engineering, computer science and other technical disciplines would also have to meet aptitude or subject-specific assessment standards where applicable, he added.

He said that for bridging programs, the students holding ADP, BA/BSc or equivalent qualifications may apply for entry into higher semesters or zero-semester bridging pathways depending on academic background and specialization requirements.

He said that the entire admission process would be conducted transparently through the online portal and the applicants must carefully follow instructions to avoid any errors during submission.

He urged the students to apply within the deadline and take full advantage of the diverse academic opportunities being offered as the university is committed to academic excellence, research development, and inclusive higher education access.

He said that last date for submission of online admission forms for BS programs is July 07 while admission test would be conducted on July 09, 2026 for BS Fine Arts, BSc Electrical Engineer and Bachelor of Engineering Technology programs. The details for admission test and syllabus are available on university website www.gcuf.edu.pk/admission, he added.

He further said that last date for submission of online admission forms for BS Bridging, B.Ed, MBA, MS/MPhil and PhD programs is July 14 while admission and interviews for MBA, MS/M.Phil and PhD programs would be held on July 20, 2026.
