SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) The senior leadership of Habib Bank Private Limited held an important and meaningful meeting on Thursday with Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shazia Bashir at her office at Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS).

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on promoting mutual collaboration between the two institutions, creating practical opportunities for female students, and expanding joint cooperation in various fields, a release of the varsity said.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shazia Bashir stated that in the present era, the role of the banking sector is no longer limited to financial services alone; banking institutions are also playing a vital role in providing young female students with quality employment opportunities, practical training, and professional skills. She emphasized that strong links between universities and industry are essential to prepare students for future challenges and demands.

The senior management of Habib Bank expressed their commitment to organizing on-campus recruitment drives at GC Women University Sialkot in the near future, through which employment opportunities will be provided to students. In addition, both sides agreed to initiate student training programs, faculty development programs, internships, and other professional activities.

The meeting was also attended by Treasurer of GC Women University Sialkot, Mirza Farooq; Director of External Linkages, Dr. Muhammad Umar Farrukh; Controller of Examinations, Malik Gulshan Aslam; Director of the Institute of Islamic Studies, Dr. Syeda Saadia; and other concerned officials.

The meeting was regarded not only as an important step toward strengthening the partnership between the university and the banking sector, but also as a positive initiative for ensuring a bright future and professional success for female students
