GDA organizes educational visits and clean-up drive for orphan children in Galiyat

NATHIAGALI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) The Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) Monday has continued its efforts to promote environmental awareness and civic responsibility among orphan children through a series of educational and recreational activities in Galiyat.

Under the special directives of Director General GDA, Muhammad Fawad, orphan children were taken on an informative visit to the water tanks in Dunga Gali, where they were briefed on water storage, distribution, and the functioning of the water supply system. Officials highlighted the importance of clean drinking water, the need to prevent water wastage, and the conservation of water resources.

The children showed great interest in learning about the water supply network and actively participated by asking questions about the system. GDA officials said the initiative was aimed at fostering environmental awareness, cleanliness, and a sense of responsibility toward protecting natural resources among the younger generation.

In a separate activity, Director Technical Engineer Arsalan Shaukat accompanied the children on a visit to various parks across Galiyat.

During the visit, environmentally friendly biodegradable bags were distributed among the participants, and a special clean-up drive was organized in the parks and surrounding areas.

The children enthusiastically took part in the cleanliness campaign, helping clean public spaces and learning about the importance of environmental protection and preserving natural beauty. Speaking on the occasion, Engineer Arsalan Shaukat emphasized that maintaining a clean environment is a collective responsibility and that educating children about cleanliness and environmental conservation is essential for building a sustainable future.

The participating children appreciated the educational and recreational activities, describing them as both informative and enjoyable. They also thanked the Galiyat Development Authority for providing them with an opportunity to learn about environmental protection, public utilities, and community service while enjoying the natural beauty of Galiyat.
