Gilgit-Baltistan Governor calls on Sindh Governor

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Mar, 2026) Governor of Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi held an important meeting with Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah at the Governor House here Sunday.

Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah congratulated Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi on assuming the office of Governor of Sindh and presented him with a bouquet.

They discussed matters of mutual interests including tourism, energy, and inter-provincial coordination.

Both sides agreed on promoting tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan, exploring investment opportunities and undertaking joint initiatives.

They also discussed cooperation in the energy sector and new projects were also reviewed.

The overall law and order situation and effective measures for further improvement were discussed.

Both leaders expressed their commitment to enhancing mutual cooperation and strengthening ties.

Governor of Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi said that a large number of tourists from across the country and abroad visited Gilgit-Baltistan. The region holds great importance for tourism. Tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan presents a positive and beautiful image of Pakistan to the world, he added.

Syed Mehdi Shah said that a comprehensive and coordinated strategy was essential to highlight this naturally beautiful region at the global level.

He said that provision of safe, peaceful and conducive environment was the government’s top priority.
