GIMS Gambat Inaugurates World Class Medicine ICU Ward

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) The Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Hospital has achieved another milestone in public healthcare with the establishment of a state-of-the-art Medicine Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Ward.

Director GIMS Hospital Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti, on Friday inspected the newly constructed ward, which has been designed to meet international standards of critical care.

The Medicine ICU is equipped with modern life-saving facilities, including advanced ventilators, cardiac monitors, centralized oxygen supply, and dedicated nursing stations. The ward has been built to ensure infection control, patient safety, and efficient emergency response.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Raheem Bux Bhatti said the new facility reflects GIMS Gambat’s continued commitment to providing quality healthcare to the people of Sindh.

“This ICU ward will serve patients from across northern Sindh and adjoining areas, reducing the need to travel to Karachi or other major cities for critical care,” he said.

GIMS Gambat has emerged as a leading public-sector tertiary care hospital in recent years, offering specialized services including liver transplant, cardiac surgery, and oncology. The addition of the modern Medicine ICU further strengthens its capacity to handle complex and critical cases.

Officials said the ward will be operational round-the-clock with trained intensivists, critical care nurses, and paramedical staff.
