Global peace imperative: FCCI

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Apr, 2026) Convener Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) Standing Committee on Art & Culture Dr Jafar Hassan Mubarak said that humanity today needs peace more urgently than ever before to avert deepening global crises as the world stands at a critical crossroads.

He was addressing a meeting attended by prominent social figures of the city while the participants held a detailed discussion on the prevailing international situation, peace, education, technology and societal responsibilities.

Dr Mubarak observed that the current global environment posed a serious challenge for humanity, adding that wars were never a solution to problems but were often imposed through the use of force.

He emphasized that in the modern era, acquiring expertise in science and technology was indispensable for progress.

He urged that the younger generation must be steered away from unproductive engagements towards constructive and meaningful activities.

Highlighting the role of intellectuals, he said the poets and writers could play a vital role in promoting peace, truth and awareness within the society.

Former MPA Madam Anjum Safdar underlined that every individual must contribute towards societal betterment. The women, in particular, could lay the foundation of a strong nation through effective upbringing of children, she added.

Head of urdu Department at Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) Prof Dr Sadaf Naqvi also attended the meeting.
