GM Mohmand Dam handed over record of acquired land

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) An important and formal ceremony was held in Mohmand district on Tuesday to hand over the revenue record of the land acquired for the construction of Mohmand Dam project.

Senior Member board of Revenue (SMBR) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (SMBR) Ameer Sultan Tareen and Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud attended the event as chief guests.

On arrival of the distinguished guests, the Deputy Commissioner Mohmand, Project Director SDLR New Merged Districts and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General)/Settlement Officer warmly welcomed them upon their arrival in the tribal district of Mohmand.

Deputy Commissioner Mohmand Yasir Hussain gave a general introduction of Mohmand district and a detailed briefing on the Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project to the participants of the ceremony

Later, Project Director SDLR and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General)/Settlement Officer informed about the progress related to ongoing land acquisition and settlement operations in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner also presented details about the current status of land acquisition cases and their settlement.

On this occasion, the Senior Member Board of Revenue issued instructions to the district administration to ensure strict implementation of all legal provisions of the Land Acquisition Act and Land Acquisition Rules 2020 (Newly Merged Districts) in the acquisition of land for public interest projects so that transparency and legal requirements are fulfilled.

Later, during a formal ceremony at the Deputy Commissioner's office, the complete record of rights of Mohmand Dam village was handed over to the General Manager Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General)/Settlement Officer, which was done in accordance with government instructions and relevant laws.

At the end of the ceremony, in view of the arrival of spring, the distinguished guests also planted saplings in the office's green area.
