DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) The Faculty of Agriculture at Gomal University organized an informative seminar aimed at promoting environmental awareness and climate consciousness among students and faculty members.
The event was held in collaboration with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Recharge Pakistan.
The seminar focused on climate change, conservation of natural resources, and the importance of adopting environmental friendly practices.
Addressing the participants, Dean Faculty of Agriculture Professor Dr. Muhammad Safdar Baloch welcomed the guests and described such initiatives as the need of the hour in view of growing environmental challenges.
During the event, Dr. Safdar Baloch also conveyed a message from Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, stating that awareness seminars play a vital role in educating people about climate change and ways to address its impacts. He added that Gomal University would continue to extend full support to such awareness-driven activities.
Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Naimatullah Babar attended the seminar as chief guest and highlighted the increasing threats posed by climate change. He stressed that collective efforts were essential to effectively tackle environmental challenges and ensure a sustainable future.

The speakers delivered detailed presentations on environmental protection, the importance of forests, sustainable use of natural resources, and the long-term effects of climate change.
Chief organizer Dr. Asghar Ali Khan spoke comprehensively on various dimensions of climate change and urged upon the participants to adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle. Shafiullah Baloch also shared details about the project, saying such initiatives help create environmental awareness among the younger generation.
Lecturer of Forestry and Range Management Muhammad Imran delivered a lecture on forests, natural resources, and ecological balance, which was highly appreciated by the audience.
At the conclusion of the seminar, commemorative shields were distributed among the guests.
Head of Horticulture and Landscaping Section Dr. Imran Khan, along with the guests, also planted saplings to highlight the importance of environmental conservation and green practices.
