Governor directs to ensure redressal & rehabilitation measures for blast victims families of Chaman Phatak

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th May, 2026) Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Friday visited the site of the recent tragic suicide blast near Chaman Railway Gate in the provincial capital Quetta and made a detailed assessment of the damage caused by the blast.

He personally went door to door to inspect the damage caused to residential houses, vehicles and the nearby Model Public school and met the affected families one by one, listened to their concerns and assured them of full cooperation and immediate redressal from the government. Governor Mandokhel specially directed the responsible persons of the survey committee to ensure immediate redressal and rehabilitation measures for all the affected without any delay.

The elected Member of Provincial Assembly of the relevant Constituency 42, Zarak Khan Mandokhel, Advocate Farid Khan Afghan Chaudhry Shabbir, Abdul Fateh Jamali and Habib-ur-Rehman Khan were also present during the visit to the scene of the Chaman Phatak tragedy.

Later, the Governor Balochistan also telephoned the Provincial Minister for Communications and Works (C&W) Saleem Khosa and stressed the need to expedite the rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in the affected area. Governor Mandokhel appreciated the government’s initiative to form a special survey committee to assess the damage to houses and vehicles affected by the blast and termed its establishment as a positive and timely step towards ensuring fair compensation for the victims.

Speaking to media representatives on the occasion, Governor Jaffar Khan said that when this unfortunate incident took place, I was out of the country, today I have come personally to assess the damage, expressed solidarity with all the bereaved families and assure them that we stand with them in this difficult time.

He said that the purpose of bringing along with me the Member of Provincial Assembly of Constituency 42, Zarak Khan Mandokhel, is to convince them that we all share the grief and sorrow of the affected families.

The public should be assured that strict legal action will be taken against all the elements involved in this blast, he said.

The Governor reiterated the resolve of the present government to maintain peace and protect the lives and property of the citizens and appealed to the public for cooperation saying that the affected families should rest assured that their losses would be compensated very soon and we could not leave anyone alone in this difficult time.
