Governor for utilizing vast geological resources of Balochistan for sustainable development

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Tuesday said that thanks to scientific thinking and approach, we could utilize the vast geological resources of Balochistan for the sustainable development and prosperity of its people.

He said that through partnership, innovation and exchange of new skills, Pakistan and China could ensure the construction and development of a future where resources develop communities, foster industrial development and further deepen the relations between the two countries.

He expressed these views while talking to the Director General of the Geological Bureau of Hunan Province, Shi Yingjun on the occasion of his visit to the Geological Bureau in China.

The Governor Balochistan was briefed on the latest technologies in mineral exploration, geological mapping and geophysical analysis.

On this occasion, Governor Mandokhel said that the knowledge and experience of developed countries should be utilized in geo-exploration and mineral development. Strengthening geological cooperation between Pakistan and China would bring tangible benefits to Pakistan and especially Balochistan. To fully utilize the mineral potential of Balochistan, knowledge transfer, joint research, and capacity building are essential, he said.

Governor Mandokhel said that by establishing mineral processing units within Balochistan, raw materials could be processed locally to improve the lives of the common man.

He said that the establishment of local processing would provide employment opportunities to our youth and promote modern skills.
