Governor KP congratulates newly elected office-bearers of National Press Club

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday congratulated all the newly elected office-bearers who secured victory in the National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad annual elections for 2026-27.

In his message, the Governor felicitated newly elected President Abdul Razzaq Sial, Secretary Dr. Furqan Rao and other successful office-bearers, terming their victory a reflection of the trust reposed in them by the journalist community.

Faisal Karim Kundi also extended special congratulations to Vice President Sehrish Qureshi and Joint Secretary Shakeela Jalil on winning the women’s reserved seats, terming the increasing active role of women journalists in the country’s media landscape a positive development.

He appreciated the transparent and peaceful conduct of the National Press Club elections and said that the large participation of journalists was a sign of strong democratic traditions within the press club.

The Governor expressed hope that the newly elected leadership would utilize their best abilities to address the issues of working journalists, particularly job security, payment of pending salaries by media owners and professional training opportunities.

He emphasized that freedom of expression was the foundation of democracy and said the National Press Club had always played a leading role in promoting this important value.
