Former federal minister and central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Senator Chaudhary Abid Sher Ali warned that the government would no longer tolerate the elements spreading chaos in the country rather strict action would be taken against those working against national interests

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Mar, 2026) Former Federal minister and central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Senator Chaudhary Abid Sher Ali warned that the government would no longer tolerate the elements spreading chaos in the country rather strict action would be taken against those working against national interests.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said that a clear message has been conveyed to all such elements that the state would act decisively to maintain law & order and protect national stability. Although the political differences are part of democracy, yet any activity aimed at undermining the state would be dealt with an iron hand, he added.

Highlighting Pakistan’s improving global image, Abid Sher Ali said that constructive role of the country in regional affairs particularly regarding the ongoing Iran-related situation is being appreciated internationally.

Pakistan is now being recognized as a mediator, which reflects a significant shift from the past when it was unfairly labeled in the context of terrorism, he added.

He credited the current political and military leadership for steering the country toward stability and strengthening its diplomatic standing. “Today, Pakistan is moving towards a stable and strong future due to the coordinated efforts of its leadership”, he added.

The PML-N leader alleged that certain individuals are attempting to create unrest within the country and said that they are maintaining contacts with foreign agents and meetings were held with an alleged Indian agent identified as Arif Ajakia through intermediaries.

Such actions are highly irresponsible and damaging to national interests, he added.

He further alleged that some social media influencers and YouTubers are spreading anti-Pakistan narratives which cannot be tolerated at all.

He said that political opponents would be confronted through democratic means, but those acting as enemies of the state would face stricter measures.

Abid Sher Ali said that Pakistan holds a significant position in the Muslim world and any attempt to malign image of the country is unacceptable.

Those who once predicted economic collapse and instability have now been exposed as the country moves forward on the path of progress, he added.

Commenting on the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Abid Sher Ali said that billions of rupees were provided to the province under “National Action Plan”, but the performance of provincial leadership remains questionable. If any protest plan is announced by the KP provincial leadership, the government is fully capable of responding appropriately, he warned.

The state would ensure its writ at all costs and no compromise would be made on security, integrity and development of Pakistan, he added.
