LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmed Shah on Monday said that ensuring the delivery of financial assistance to deserving individuals with dignity and respect through a digital system remained the government’s top priority under the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Speaking a his visit to the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) office in Kasur, the minister said the government was undertaking historic measures in the health and social protection sectors to serve underprivileged segments of society.

He termed the National Poverty Alleviation Programme a “new chapter” in the country’s economic history, reaffirming that the government would continue extending financial support to the deserving and would not leave them alone in difficult times.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, he said modern facilitation centres had been established under Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal to provide comprehensive medical services to needy patients under one roof.

The minister reiterated that merit and transparency would be strictly ensured across all federal programmes. He also directed authorities to make the distribution of SIM cards fully transparent so so that BISP beneficiaries could conveniently receive payments through mobile wallets.

Earlier, the minister visited various sections of the BISP office and expressed satisfaction over the mechanism of assistance being provided to beneficiaries.
